
Oil Barge

Description
Half hull model for an oil tank barge, hull #1425 from the Bethlehem Steel Quincy Fore River Shipyard. The model, carved from a single piece of pine, shows a vesel with a moderatley full bow, rectangular midsection, and fine fantail stern. "H-1425" is inked on the otherwise-unfinished side. A pencil notation "Hull for Ta[nk ____] is nearby. Scribed station lines faintly visible, especially on back, top, and bottom. A centerline is scribed 3/8" from the back fo the model.
Hull #1425 was a tank barge built for the Seaboard Shipping Corporation and operated under the name Seaboard No. 1.
