"We Declare MIT a Flood Zone" poster

Description
Digital file for a poster depicting the Green Building. Water has been added to this image so that much of the landscape is underwater. Text in front of the image reads “We Declare MIT a Flood Zone” with a URL beneath the text.
In May 2022, a group of approximately 30 MIT students organized by Megan Xu and Kelly Wu wrapped this tape around MIT campus buildings at the estimated water level from a 5-foot storm surge and a sea level rise of 3.3 feet above water levels in 2000. The height was based on NOAA's intermediate estimate for sea level rise in 2100 using data from 2000-2018. The group also hung posters like these that illustrated what the result of sea level rise would be.
