Fully rigged model of the steamer Clermont (formally, "North River Steamboat of Clermont"), showing the vessel's steam engine, boiler, and paddle wheels along with a sailing rig and deck furniture. Model is painted grey above the waterline and red beneath, mounted on a flat wood base.

Designed by Robert Fulton and built in 1807, the Clermont was considered the first commercially successful steamer in the world. It ran between New York City and Albany. This model is based on a replica built for the centennial in 1907.
