Oscilloscopes display electrical voltage as a function of time. Though they are used in a variety of industries, this oscilloscope was designed as a general purpose piece of laboratory equipment to analyze electrical circuits by studying the waveform of voltage and current at various points in the circuit. This instrument was used with a DuMont Type 297 oscillograph record camera (1988.058.012.02), and this setup was the first commercial high frequency oscilloscope used at MIT with a camera.
