Original Caption: "Off To Bomb Tokyo--1942 Off to bomb Tokyo, a North American B-25, one of 16 raiders, led by Lt. Gen. James Doolittle (then he was a lieutenant colonel), leaves the deck of the aircraft carrier Hornet, 800 miles away from the Japanese capital, on April 18, 1942. Today, 10 years later, 60 of the 80 offcers [sic] who took part in the famous Doolittle raid are still alive."
